Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) a digital platform aimed at simplifying trade documentation and clearance is gaining significant traction ahead of its planned full operational rollout in early 2026, with sustained government support helping to align key agencies and push implementation forward.

The project has picked up momentum under President Bola Tinubu’s continued interest, helping harmonise inter-agency positions and generate cross-government collaboration.

Launched in April 2024, the NSW is expected to cut red tape and modernise import, export, and transit processes by connecting all relevant agencies via a single digital portal.

Government authorities, including customs and revenue services, are targeting full NSW take-off by the first quarter of 2026; several milestones and system integrations have already been achieved.

Once operational, the NSW is expected to reduce trade costs and delays, enhance transparency, and improve Nigeria’s competitiveness in regional and global markets, aligning the country with African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) digital trade standards.
