The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is intensifying efforts to achieve its ambitious N25.2 trillion revenue target for 2025, as outlined by the National Assembly. Executive Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji has emphasized a strategic overhaul centered on three key pillars: technological advancement, capacity building, and infrastructure enhancement .

In 2024, the FIRS surpassed its revenue goal by generating N21.6 trillion, exceeding the N19.4 trillion target. Building on this success, Dr. Adedeji is driving a transformation agenda to modernize operations and expand the tax base. Initiatives include the deployment of TaxProMax, integration of third-party data for intelligence, and improved debt collection processes .

The FIRS is also focusing on enhancing its facilities and investing in staff training to foster a high-performance culture. These efforts aim to position the FIRS as a globally recognized and efficient revenue authority, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s economic development .

As the FIRS works towards its N25.2 trillion target, it remains committed to leveraging innovation and collaboration to drive sustainable revenue growth.
