A Nigerian court has admitted documents from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) that allegedly confirm Binance’s financial transactions in Nigeria. The documents reportedly detail Binance’s operations, including over 386,000 Nigerian users and a trading volume of $21.6 billion in 2023.
The FIRS is suing Binance for $79.5 billion in economic losses and $2 billion in back taxes for 2022 and 2023. The lawsuit alleges that Binance operated in Nigeria without proper registration, violating tax and financial regulations.
The court has adjourned the trial to April 30, 2025, allowing time for Binance to respond to a request to annul an earlier court order .
