Former Washington Governor Jay Inslee proposed a series of tax increases, including a wealth tax, at the end of his term. The proposed wealth tax would impose a 1% annual tax on residents with over $100 million in worldwide holdings. However, the new governor could potentially block the enactment of this wealth tax.

Inslee's proposal also includes a carbon pollution tax and other tax hikes, totaling $4 billion. While these proposals have been introduced in the House, they may face significant revisions or opposition from the state Senate and the new governor.

It's worth noting that Inslee's tax proposals have been met with skepticism in the past, and the legislature has resisted some of his previous tax increase proposals. The outcome of these proposals remains uncertain, and it's unclear whether the new governor will support or block them.
