The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have partnered to strengthen tax compliance in Abuja. This collaboration aims to improve revenue collection and administration in the Federal Capital Territory.

Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, Mr. Michael Ango, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in ensuring transparency and efficiency in tax collection. He noted that the partnership aligns with the service's mandate to enhance revenue generation through strategic collaborations.

The EFCC, in response, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed its readiness to support efforts aimed at boosting tax enforcement. EFCC Chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, highlighted the commission's existing partnerships with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and other state internal revenue services.

This partnership is expected to enhance transparency, improve revenue collection, and promote a more business-friendly environment in the Federal Capital Territory. The FCT-IRS and EFCC will work together to share data, intelligence, and best practices to combat tax evasion and other financial crimes.
